The Bianchi Sprint was launched in the 1970s with a steel lugged frame, distinctive ‘celeste’ paintwork and the superb geometry that makes Bianchis stand out from the competition.
The fact that Bianchi has started to remanufacture a classic “L’Eroica” steel frame to meet demand from discerning riders with an eye on classic cycling events tells you all you need to know about the enduring appeal of an Italian cycling icon.
This 56cm Sprint, dating from 1974, is in fully restored condition with new powder coated paint finish, new saddle, seat post, tyres, cables, chain, bar tape, hoods, bottle cage, bottle and rebuilt wheels.
The frame and forks have been stripped and refinished in their original celeste with new stickers applied, and the bike reassembled with an eye on conserving the original components as far as possible.
Current specification is a mix of Campagnolo and Gian Robert, with Universal brakes, Balilla levers, Ofmega headset, 3ttt bars and stem and Velo saddle with SR seat post and KMC chain.
