SERVICE
Safety – comes first with bikes. Every service includes checks on brakes, steering and security of components.
Maintenance – regular lubrication of moving parts is essential to keep your bike working smoothly and reliably. We take the drivetrain apart for cleaning and lubing. Gear-shifting and brakes are checked and adjusted.
Cleaning – not everyone has the time or facilities to clean up their bike and we are happy to do that for you – we can give your cycle the deep clean of its life!
REPAIR
We will let you know if your bike needs replacement parts and quote for different options before going ahead with any repairs.
Typically, the tyres, chain, brake blocks and cables may need replacement every 1-2 years, dependent on mileage. New tyres are much less prone to punctures. If your brake levers and shifters are stiff or notchy, new cables can bring back silky changes and smooth, easy braking.
ENHANCEMENT
To help you get the most from your bike, we can upgrade components to make it a better match for the way you ride. The rear cassette ratios and chainrings have a huge influence on the climbing ability of a bike. Whether you’d like an easier time in the hills or feel the need to push the big ring on a fast downhill, we can tune the set-up for you. Colin Chapman of Lotus Cars fame had a guiding principle of ‘Add Lightness’ and this holds true for performance road bikes. One of the most effective upgrades is a lighter wheelset, every effort on the road will be rewarded with snappier acceleration and the ability to carry more speed up the climbs.

We love classic bicycles and they’re such good fun to ride – we always aim to have several in stock, including stylish steel-framed lightweights from the 1970s and 80s. Keep an eye on the progress of our restoration projects, the transformation is amazing.
